واقعے کے بعد علاقے میں شدید خوف و ہراس پھیل گیا۔ اطلاع ملتے ہی قانون نافذ کرنے والے ادارے موقع پر پہنچ گئے، جائے وقوعہ سے شواہد اکٹھے کیے گئے اور تفتیش کا دائرہ وسیع کر دیا گیا تاکہ واقعے کے تمام پہلوؤں کو بے نقاب کیا جا سکے۔
