Rawat: Inauguration of expansion and renovation of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rawalpindi

روات(نمائندہ پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم,اکرام الحق قریشی,17فروری2024ء)— ہولی فیملی کتھولک چرچ کی توسیع اور تزئین و آرائش کے کام کاافتتاح کردیا گیا ۔چرچ کی توسیع کی افتتاحی تقریب میں کمشنر راولپنڈی ڈویژن لیاقت چٹھہ،بشپ ڈاکٹر جوزف ارشد، بشپ آف راولپنڈی اسلام آباد ڈاؤسیس، فادر سرفراز سائمن اور بابو ساجد امین کھوکھر اور دیگر بھی موجود تھے۔ اس موقع پر کمشنر نے کہا کہ چرچ کے بیسمنٹ جو ہسپتال کے زیر استعمال تھےوہ بھی چرچ انتظامیہ کے حوالے کر دیا گیاہے۔

Rawat (Pothwar.com, Ikramul Haque Qureshi, 17th February 2024)- The Catholic Church at the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) was on Thursday reopened after renovation and expansion with its main gate separated from the hospital entrance.

In addition, the basement of the church, which was being used by the hospital, was handed over to the church administration after approval by Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta.

The commissioner was chief guest at the opening ceremony with Bishop Dr Joseph Arshad, Bishop of Rawalpindi Islamabad Diocese, Nazia Abrar Khan, Father Sarfraz Simon and Babu Sajid Amin Khokhar in attendance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chatha said due to the same entrance to the church and the hospital’s OPD, patients and the Christian community members had to face problems. He said during the upgradation of the hospital, it was decided to separate the OPD route from that of the church.

“Apart from building a separate gate for the church, the administration also spent Rs200,000 on the expansion of the church and other works,” he said.

He said the constitution of the country provided minorities with equal rights and freedom to practice their religions. Islam is a religion of unity, love and mutual tolerance. “As Muslims, we should respect each other’s beliefs, ideas and thoughts,” he said.

He said promotion of interfaith harmony and tolerance was the need of the hour to make the country a cradle of peace. Necessary arrangements are being made.
