The initiative has been introduced by the Pakistan Airports Authority to improve passenger convenience and ensure that travellers can exchange their foreign currency into Pakistani rupees before leaving the airport.
The exchange counter was officially inaugurated by Rabia Salma, Director Commercial and Estate of the authority. The Airport Manager and members of the commercial department were also present at the ceremony.
According to officials, the counter has been set up in the International Arrivals Lounge, allowing passengers arriving in Pakistan to convert their foreign currency within the airport premises. This means travellers will no longer need to leave the airport to find exchange centres in the city.
Authorities stated that the presence of banking and exchange services inside the airport will provide passengers with a secure and convenient way to convert their money. The step is part of broader efforts to introduce international-standard facilities at the airport and improve the overall travel experience for visitors and returning residents.
