Gujar Khan: Administration Begins Anti-Encroachment Drive for Two Underpasses on GT Road

گوجرخان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام /11/ مارچ/ 2026) — جی ٹی روڈ پر گلیانہ موڑ اور ٹیکنیکل کالج کے مقام پر دو انڈر پاسز کی تعمیر کے منصوبے کے لیے مقامی انتظامیہ نے تجاوزات کے خاتمے کا عمل شروع کرنے کی ہدایات جاری کر دی ہیں۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد اس اہم شاہراہ پر ٹریفک کے بڑھتے ہوئے دباؤ کو کم کرنا اور آمدورفت کو مزید بہتر بنانا ہے۔

اسسٹنٹ کمشنر گوجرخان کی جانب سے جاری مراسلے کے مطابق پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ (پی اینڈ ڈی) بورڈ لاہور نے اس منصوبے کی باقاعدہ منظوری دے دی ہے جبکہ منصوبے کا تفصیلی لے آؤٹ پلان نیشنل انجینئرنگ سروسز پاکستان (نیسپاک) کی جانب سے تیار کیا جا چکا ہے۔

حکام کے مطابق نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی (این ایچ اے) اور محکمہ مال نے مشترکہ طور پر جی ٹی روڈ کے رائٹ آف وے (Right of Way) کی حد بندی مکمل کر لی ہے۔ ڈیمارکیشن رپورٹ کے مطابق سڑک کے اس مخصوص حصے کے اندر متعدد تجاوزات موجود ہیں جن میں سرکاری عمارتیں، وکلا کے چیمبرز، کھوکھا بازار، دکانیں اور دیگر مستقل و عارضی تعمیرات شامل ہیں۔

مراسلے میں اسسٹنٹ کمشنر نے میونسپل کمیٹی گوجرخان کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ اپنے دائرہ اختیار میں آنے والی تمام تجاوزات اور میونسپل ڈھانچوں کو فوری طور پر ہٹانے کے لیے اقدامات کرے۔ اس کے ساتھ ہی محکمہ مال کو زمین کی نشاندہی اور سرکاری ریکارڈ کی تصدیق میں مکمل معاونت فراہم کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی ہے تاکہ کارروائی قانونی تقاضوں کے مطابق مکمل ہو سکے۔

انتظامیہ نے سٹی ٹریفک پولیس اور موٹروے پولیس کو بھی ہدایت جاری کی ہے کہ وہ تجاوزات کے خلاف آپریشن کے دوران ٹریفک کی روانی برقرار رکھنے اور انتظامیہ کے ساتھ مکمل تعاون کو یقینی بنائیں تاکہ شہریوں کو کم سے کم مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑے۔

اس کے علاوہ پیرا فورس کو بھی تمام متعلقہ اداروں کے ساتھ رابطہ اور نفاذ کے عمل میں کردار ادا کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے تاکہ آپریشن کے دوران امن و امان کی صورتحال برقرار رکھی جا سکے۔

ضلعی انتظامیہ کے مطابق تجاوزات کے خاتمے کے بعد انڈر پاس منصوبے پر عملی کام جلد شروع کیا جائے گا۔ منصوبہ مکمل ہونے کے بعد گلیانہ موڑ اور ٹیکنیکل کالج کے علاقوں میں ٹریفک کے مسائل میں نمایاں کمی آئے گی اور جی ٹی روڈ پر سفر کرنے والے ہزاروں شہریوں کو بہتر سفری سہولیات میسر آئیں گی۔

Gujar Khan, Pothwar.com, March 11, 2026 — The local administration in Gujar Khan has issued directives to begin the removal of encroachments along the Grand Trunk (GT) Road in preparation for the construction of two new underpasses at the Gulyana Mor and Technical College locations. The project aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on one of the region’s busiest highways.

According to an official letter issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Gujar Khan, the Planning and Development (P&D) Board in Lahore has formally approved the project. The layout plan for the underpasses has been prepared by the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), marking a significant step forward in the planning phase.

Authorities confirmed that the National Highway Authority (NHA), in collaboration with the Revenue Department, has completed the demarcation of the road’s right-of-way (ROW). The demarcation report revealed that several structures currently exist within the designated ROW of the GT Road. These include government buildings, lawyers’ chambers, a roadside kiosk market (khokha bazaar), shops, and other constructions that fall within the restricted zone.

Following the findings, the Assistant Commissioner has directed the Municipal Committee of Gujar Khan to take immediate action to remove all encroachments and municipal structures that lie within its jurisdiction along the highway. The Revenue Department has also been instructed to assist with land identification and verification of official land records to ensure the operation proceeds in accordance with legal boundaries.

In order to maintain smooth traffic flow during the anti-encroachment operation, the City Traffic Police and Motorway Police have been instructed to provide logistical and traffic management support to the district administration. Officials emphasised that traffic disruptions will be minimised while the clearance work is carried out.

Furthermore, the Para Force has been directed to coordinate with all relevant departments and play an active role in the enforcement process. Authorities stressed that close inter-departmental coordination will help ensure the encroachment removal campaign proceeds efficiently and without disturbances.

The administration stated that the timely clearance of encroachments is crucial to enable the start of construction work on the two underpasses without delay. Once completed, the underpasses are expected to significantly ease traffic congestion at the busy intersections of Gulyana Mor and the Technical College area, improving commuting conditions for residents and travellers using the GT Road.

Local officials also noted that maintaining law and order during the operation will remain a priority to ensure that the project moves forward smoothly and benefits the wider community.
