Kallar Syedan: PPP Leader Zaher Mahmood Rejects ‘Historic’ Petrol Price Hike

کلر سیداں (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام — اکرام الحق قریشی | 10 مارچ 2026)—پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی ضلع راولپنڈی کے سابق صدر چوھدری ظہیر محمود نے کہا ہے کہ پٹرولیم مصنوعات میں ملکی تاریخ کا سب سے بڑا اضافہ انتہائی غیر ضروری اور عوام دشمنی پر مبنی فیصلہ ہے پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی باضابطہ طور پر اس اضافے کو مسترد کرکے عوام کے ساتھ کھڑی ہے ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے کلرسیداں میں میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا اس موقع پر پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے سٹی جنرل سیکرٹری نصیر اختر بھٹی، فیاض کیانی، احسان الحق قریشی اور چوہدری توقیر اسلم بھی موجود تھے چوہدری ظہیر محمود نے کہا کہ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی ہمیشہ عام لوگوں کے مسائل کو سنجیدگی سے لیتی رہی ہماری ساری سیاسی زندگی عوام کی خدمت سے عبارت ہے پیپلز پارٹی جب بھی اقتدار میں آئی ملک کو مستحکم کیا ملک کو نہ صرف ایٹمی طاقت بنایا بلکہ میزائل ٹیکنالوجی بھی دی ملازمین کی تنخواہوں اور مراعات میں اضافہ کیا آج پنجاب حکومت نے ملازمین کو تختہ مشق بنا رکھا ہے انہیں پنشن کے حق سے محروم کردیا گیا صحت تعلیم کے شعبے نجی شعبہ کے سپرد کردیے گے پنجاب کے عوام اپنی حکومت سے جواب طلب کیوں نہیں کرتے یہ سیاسی قوت کا مظاہرہ کیوں نہیں کرتے؟انہوں نے کہا کہ پیپلز پارٹی نے ہمیشہ ملک اور عوام کی خدمت کی کلرسیداں میں بھی جتنی ترقی چوہدری محمد خالد اور چوھدری نثار علی خاں کے ادوار میں ہوئی اس کا آج تک مشال نہیں ملتی ہم نے پیپلز پارٹی کی جانب سے ہر الیکشن میں خود کو عوام کے سامنے پیش کیا مگر عوام کے ہر فیصلے کو قبول بھی کیا اسی جرم کی آج سزا بھگت رہے ہیں اگر آج پنجاب میں پیپلز پارٹی کی حکومت ہوتی تو ملازمین خودکشیاں نہ کرتے جب عوام الیکشن میں درست فیصلے نہ کریں تو پھر یہی کچھ ہوتا ہے جو پنجاب میں آج کل ہو رھا یے پنجاب کے لوگوں کو تو سالہا سال سے بلدیاتی نظام سے بھی محروم رکھا جا رھا یے مگر عوام کا کبھی اس زیادتی پر احتجاجی بیان تک سامنے نہ آیا ہے حکومت نے پنجاب کے لوگوں سے قوت گویائی بھی چھین لی ہے۔

Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | March 10, 2026): Former President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Rawalpindi District, Chaudhry Zaher Mahmood, has strongly criticised the recent increase in petroleum prices, calling it the largest hike in the country’s history and an unnecessary decision against the public.

Speaking to the media in Kallar Syedan, he said that the Pakistan Peoples Party has formally rejected the increase and stands with the people. On the occasion, PPP City General Secretary Naseer Akhtar Bhatti, Fayyaz Kiyani, Ahsan-ul-Haq Qureshi and Chaudhry Tauqeer Aslam were also present.

Chaudhry Zaher Mahmood stated that the PPP has always taken the problems of ordinary people seriously and that their entire political life has been dedicated to public service. He said that whenever the PPP came to power, it helped stabilise the country, made Pakistan a nuclear power, advanced missile technology, and increased salaries and benefits for employees.

He criticised the Punjab government, alleging that it has made government employees a target and deprived them of their pension rights, while the health and education sectors have been handed over to the private sector.

He also questioned why the people of Punjab are not holding their government accountable or showing political strength. Zaher Mahmood added that PPP has always served the country and the people, and that the development carried out in Kallar Syedan during the tenures of Chaudhry Muhammad Khalid and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan remains unmatched.

He said the PPP has always presented itself before the public in every election and accepted the people’s mandate, but is now paying the price for that commitment. He claimed that if the PPP were in power in Punjab today, government employees would not be driven to desperation.

He further remarked that when the public fails to make the right decisions in elections, the consequences become evident, as seen in Punjab today. He also criticised the prolonged absence of a local government system in Punjab and said that the people have remained silent despite being deprived of their democratic rights.
