Gujar Khan Fruit Market Traders Protest Over Absence of Official Rate List and Heavy Fines

گوجر خان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام | 22 فروری 2026) — گوجر خان کی فروٹ منڈی کے تاجروں نے منڈی انتظامیہ کے خلاف شدید احتجاج کرتے ہوئے الزام عائد کیا ہے کہ سرکاری ریٹ لسٹ باقاعدگی سے فراہم نہیں کی جا رہی جبکہ دوسری جانب بھاری جرمانے عائد کیے جا رہے ہیں اور دکانیں سیل کرنے کے احکامات جاری کیے جا رہے ہیں۔

احتجاج کرنے والے دکانداروں کے مطابق منڈی انتظامیہ کی جانب سے سرکاری ریٹ لسٹ کی پرچی باقاعدگی سے جاری نہیں کی جاتی۔ اس کے باوجود جرمانے اور دکانیں سیل کرنے جیسے سخت اقدامات کیے جا رہے ہیں جس پر تاجروں میں شدید غم و غصہ پایا جاتا ہے۔ انہوں نے ان اقدامات کو یکطرفہ اور غیر منصفانہ قرار دیا۔

متاثرہ دکانداروں کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ صبح سویرے جب منڈی پہنچتے ہیں تو ریٹ لسٹ پہلے سے آویزاں ہوتی ہے، تاہم انہیں سرکاری طور پر کوئی پرچی فراہم نہیں کی جاتی۔ ان کا مؤقف ہے کہ باضابطہ ریٹ لسٹ فراہم کیے بغیر جرمانہ کرنا ناانصافی اور ناقابل قبول اقدام ہے۔

تاجروں نے مزید الزام عائد کیا کہ متعلقہ سیکرٹری اور دیگر افسران منڈی کا دورہ کیے بغیر دفاتر یا گھروں میں بیٹھ کر فیصلے کرتے ہیں اور زمینی حقائق سے لاعلم رہتے ہیں۔ ان کے مطابق انتظامیہ انہیں خریداری قیمت سے کم نرخوں پر پھل فروخت کرنے پر مجبور کر رہی ہے۔

ایک تاجر نے کہا، “ہم آڑھتی سے مال ایک ہزار روپے میں خریدتے ہیں اور ہمیں سات سو روپے میں فروخت کرنے کا کہا جاتا ہے۔ یہ سراسر زیادتی ہے۔ ہم نقصان میں کاروبار کیسے کر سکتے ہیں جبکہ ہمیں اپنے اہل خانہ کا بھی خیال رکھنا ہے۔”

مظاہرین نے یہ بھی انکشاف کیا کہ ریٹ لسٹ کی پرچی کے نام پر فی پرچی 30 روپے وصول کیے جا رہے ہیں، جسے انہوں نے غیر قانونی اور استحصالی عمل قرار دیا۔ ان کے مطابق منڈی میں اصل خریداری نرخ اور سرکاری فروخت ریٹ میں واضح فرق ہے جس کے باعث دکانداروں کو مالی نقصان اٹھانا پڑ رہا ہے۔

فروٹ منڈی کے تاجروں نے مطالبہ کیا کہ ذمہ دار سرکاری حکام خود موقع پر آ کر صورتحال کا جائزہ لیں اور حقیقی منڈی نرخوں کے مطابق فروخت کی اجازت دی جائے۔ انہوں نے نااہل اور غیر ذمہ دار افسران کے خلاف کارروائی کا بھی مطالبہ کیا اور کہا کہ ایسے اقدامات حکومت کی بدنامی کا سبب بن رہے ہیں۔

مظاہرین نے خبردار کیا کہ اگر ان کے مطالبات پر فوری توجہ نہ دی گئی تو احتجاج کا دائرہ مزید وسیع کیا جا سکتا ہے۔

Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com | February 22, 2026) —  Traders of the fruit market in Gujar Khan staged a strong protest against the market administration, accusing officials of failing to provide official rate lists while simultaneously imposing heavy fines and sealing shops.

According to the protesting shopkeepers, the market administration does not regularly issue the official government rate list slips. Despite this, strict actions such as imposing heavy fines and sealing shops are being carried out. The traders expressed deep frustration over what they described as unfair and one-sided measures.

The affected shopkeepers stated that when they arrive at the fruit market early in the morning, the rate list is already displayed. However, they are not officially provided with a government-issued slip. They argued that penalising them without formally handing over the rate list is unjust and unacceptable.

The traders further alleged that the concerned secretary and other officials make decisions from their offices or homes without visiting the market to observe the ground realities. They claimed that authorities are forcing them to sell fruit at prices lower than their purchase cost.

“We purchase goods from commission agents at Rs. 1,000 and are instructed to sell them for Rs. 700. This is sheer injustice,” one trader said. “How can we run our businesses at a loss? We also have families to feed.”

The protesters also revealed that Rs. 30 is being charged per rate list slip, which they termed illegal and exploitative. According to them, there is a clear difference between the actual purchase price in the market and the officially notified selling rate, resulting in financial losses for shopkeepers.

The fruit market traders demanded that responsible government officials visit the market personally to assess the real situation. They urged authorities to allow sales according to the actual market rates and take action against what they described as incompetent and irresponsible officers whose actions, they claim, are damaging the government’s reputation.

The protesters warned that if their concerns are not addressed promptly, they may expand their protest in the coming days.
