Rawat (Pothwar.com— Ikram ul Haq Qureshi | February 21, 2026) — In a major joint operation, the Punjab Food Authority and the Islamabad Food Authority busted a large fake milk manufacturing gang near Lehtrar Road.
Acting on a tip-off, food safety teams raided a residential house where a significant quantity of hazardous milk solution was being prepared. Authorities confiscated approximately 13,000 liters of fake milk mixture, which was being manufactured using dry powder and vanaspati ghee. The adulterated product was destroyed on the spot.
During the raid, officials also recovered 480 kilograms of vanaspati ghee, 50 kilograms of dry powder, and machinery used in the production of counterfeit milk.
According to officials, the harmful milk was intended for supply to the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi during the holy month of Ramadan, when the demand for milk and yogurt significantly increases.
Food authorities stated that the timely action averted a major public health risk. A case has been registered at the complaint of the Islamabad Food Authority against those involved in the illegal operation, and further investigations are underway.
