Gujar Khan: Nurses at THQ Hospital Allege Harassment, Seek Government Intervention

گوجرخان کے تحصیل ہیڈکوارٹر (ٹی ایچ کیو) ہسپتال میں ایک سنگین تنازع سامنے آیا ہے، جہاں متعدد نرسز نے ہراسانی کے الزامات عائد کرتے ہوئے سرکاری اداروں میں کام کرنے والی خواتین طبی ملازمین کے تحفظ، وقار اور حقوق پر شدید تحفظات کا اظہار کیا ہے۔

متاثرہ نرسز کے مطابق انہیں ہسپتال کے احاطے میں مسلسل ذہنی دباؤ اور نامناسب رویے کا سامنا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ ایمانداری اور پیشہ ورانہ ذمہ داریوں کی ادائیگی کے باوجود ان پر بلاجواز دباؤ ڈالا جاتا ہے اور انہیں ہراساں کیا جاتا ہے، جس کے باعث کام کا ماحول غیر محفوظ اور مایوس کن ہو چکا ہے۔ نرسز کا دعویٰ ہے کہ اس حوالے سے بارہا شکایات کے باوجود متعلقہ حکام کی جانب سے تاحال کوئی مؤثر کارروائی عمل میں نہیں لائی گئی۔

اس صورتحال نے ایک اہم سوال کو جنم دیا ہے کہ کیا غریب سرکاری ملازمین کے لیے کہیں شنوائی موجود نہیں؟ نرسز، جو عوام کو طبی سہولیات فراہم کرنے میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرتی ہیں، کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ سرکاری نظام کا حصہ ہونے کے باوجود خود کو تنہا اور بے آواز محسوس کر رہی ہیں۔

شکایت کنندگان نے اس بات پر بھی تشویش کا اظہار کیا ہے کہ اس نوعیت کے واقعات وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کے اس وژن کو براہِ راست نقصان پہنچا رہے ہیں، جس میں اچھی حکمرانی، شفافیت اور سرکاری ملازمین خصوصاً خواتین کے احترام پر زور دیا گیا ہے۔ ان کا مؤقف ہے کہ مبینہ طور پر ملوث عناصر نہ صرف اصلاحاتی ایجنڈے کو سبوتاژ کر رہے ہیں بلکہ سرکاری اداروں کی ساکھ کو بھی متاثر کر رہے ہیں۔

نرسز نے اسسٹنٹ کمشنر گوجرخان، ڈپٹی کمشنر راولپنڈی اور ایم پی اے چوہدری جاوید کوثر سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ فوری طور پر اس معاملے کا نوٹس لیں، مظلوم نرسز کی فریاد سنیں، شفاف انکوائری کو یقینی بنائیں اور قصوروار افراد کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کریں۔

سول سوسائٹی کے نمائندوں اور صحت کے شعبے سے وابستہ مبصرین کا کہنا ہے کہ اگر ایسے الزامات کو نظر انداز کیا گیا تو خواتین کا سرکاری ہسپتالوں میں کام کرنے کا اعتماد متزلزل ہو سکتا ہے، جس سے پہلے ہی دباؤ کا شکار صحت کا نظام مزید کمزور ہو جائے گا۔ ان کے مطابق طبی عملے کے وقار اور حقوق کا تحفظ نہ صرف اخلاقی فریضہ ہے بلکہ عوامی اعتماد کے لیے بھی ناگزیر ہے۔

متاثرہ نرسز نے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ معاملے کی غیر جانبدار اور شفاف تحقیقات کی جائیں، انہیں قانونی تحفظ فراہم کیا جائے اور اس بات کی ضمانت دی جائے کہ آواز اٹھانے پر ان کے خلاف کوئی انتقامی کارروائی نہیں ہوگی۔ نرسز کو امید ہے کہ اعلیٰ حکام بروقت مداخلت کر کے انصاف فراہم کریں گے اور واضح پیغام دیں گے کہ کام کی جگہ پر ہراسانی کسی صورت برداشت نہیں کی جائے گی۔

According to the affected nurses, they have been facing continuous mental distress and inappropriate behaviour within the hospital premises. They claim that despite performing their duties honestly and professionally, they are subjected to undue pressure and harassment, creating an unsafe and demoralising work environment. The nurses allege that their repeated complaints have so far failed to receive effective attention from the relevant authorities.

The situation has sparked a broader question: Is there no forum for poor government employees to be heard? The nurses, who play a crucial role in delivering healthcare services to the public, say they feel abandoned and unheard, despite being part of the government system.

The complainants have expressed concern that such practices are directly undermining the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has repeatedly emphasised good governance, transparency, and respect for public servants, particularly women working in essential sectors like healthcare. They argue that individuals responsible for these alleged acts are sabotaging the Chief Minister’s reform agenda and tarnishing the image of public institutions.

In their appeal, the nurses have urged Assistant Commissioner Gujar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, and MPA Chaudhry Javed Kausar to take immediate notice of the matter. They have called upon these officials to listen to the cries of the oppressed nurses, ensure a fair inquiry, and take strict action against those found guilty.

Civil society members and healthcare observers stress that if such allegations are ignored, it could discourage women from working in government hospitals and further weaken an already strained healthcare system. They emphasise that protecting the dignity and rights of healthcare workers is not only a moral obligation but also essential for maintaining public trust in government institutions.

The affected nurses have demanded a transparent investigation, legal protection, and assurance that no retaliatory action will be taken against them for raising their voices. They hope that the authorities will intervene promptly and ensure justice, setting a clear example that harassment in the workplace will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
