یونین کونسل کوری ڈولال اور نور ڈولال کے دیہات کے مکین قدرتی گیس کی سہولت سے محروم ہیں، حالانکہ مندرہ سے بھٹہ جانے والی مرکزی گیس لائن ان کے علاقے کے قریب سے گزر رہی ہے۔ اس صورتحال نے مقامی آبادی میں شدید بے چینی اور مایوسی کو جنم دیا ہے، جبکہ عوام کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ کئی برسوں سے اس بنیادی سہولت سے محروم چلے آ رہے ہیں۔

علاقہ مکینوں کے مطابق گیس ٹرانسمیشن لائن ان کے دیہات سے محض چند فاصلے پر موجود ہے، تاہم متعدد درخواستوں اور تحریری اپیلوں کے باوجود تاحال گیس کنکشن فراہم نہیں کیے گئے۔ مقامی لوگوں کا کہنا ہے کہ ان کے اردگرد کے وہ علاقے جو مرکزی لائن سے زیادہ فاصلے پر واقع ہیں، وہاں گیس فراہم کر دی گئی ہے، مگر کوری ڈولال اور نور ڈولال کو مسلسل نظرانداز کیا جا رہا ہے۔

گیس کی عدم فراہمی کے باعث مکینوں کو کھانا پکانے اور سردیوں میں حرارت کے لیے لکڑی، ایل پی جی سلنڈر اور دیگر مہنگے ذرائع استعمال کرنا پڑ رہے ہیں۔ اس صورتحال سے خواتین اور بچے سب سے زیادہ متاثر ہو رہے ہیں، جنہیں روزمرہ ایندھن کے انتظام میں اضافی وقت اور پیسہ خرچ کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ ایل پی جی کی بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتوں نے غریب اور متوسط طبقے کی مشکلات میں مزید اضافہ کر دیا ہے۔

علاقہ مکینوں نے متعلقہ اداروں کی اس صورتحال کو امتیازی سلوک اور غفلت قرار دیتے ہوئے شدید احتجاج ریکارڈ کرایا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ متعدد بار وفود نے متعلقہ محکموں اور منتخب نمائندوں سے ملاقاتیں کیں، لیکن اب تک کوئی عملی پیش رفت نہیں ہو سکی۔ ایک مقامی رہائشی کے مطابق، “گیس لائن ہمارے دیہات کے ساتھ سے گزر رہی ہے، مگر ہم آج بھی گیس کے بغیر زندگی گزارنے پر مجبور ہیں، جو سراسر ناانصافی ہے۔”

علاقے کی سماجی و سیاسی شخصیات نے بھی اس صورتحال پر تنقید کرتے ہوئے حکام سے فوری نوٹس لینے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ قدرتی گیس عوام کی بنیادی ضرورت اور حق ہے، کوئی رعایت نہیں۔

مکینوں نے سابق وزیر اعظم راجہ پرویز اشرف کی جانب توجہ دلاتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کے دور میں گیس کی منظوری دی گئی تھی، مگر تاحال دیہات کو گیس فراہم نہیں کی جا سکی۔ عوام نے سوئی گیس حکام اور مقامی نمائندوں سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ فوری طور پر علاقے کا سروے کر کے گیس کنکشن فراہم کیے جائیں۔ انہوں نے خبردار کیا کہ اگر ان کا دیرینہ مطالبہ نظرانداز کیا جاتا رہا تو وہ احتجاج پر مجبور ہوں گے۔

یہ مسئلہ دیہی علاقوں میں غیر متوازن ترقی اور بنیادی سہولیات کی عدم دستیابی کی واضح مثال ہے، جہاں بڑے انفراسٹرکچر منصوبے گزرنے کے باوجود مقامی آبادی بنیادی حقوق سے محروم ہے۔

The situation has caused growing frustration among local people, who say they have been deprived of this basic utility for years.

According to residents, the gas transmission line runs only a short distance from their villages, yet repeated requests and applications for gas connections have failed to yield any results. Locals state that neighbouring areas located farther away from the main line have been provided with gas connections, while Kori Dolal and Noor Dolal remain ignored.

Due to the lack of gas supply, residents are forced to rely on firewood, LPG cylinders, and other expensive alternatives for cooking and heating, especially during winter. Women and children are particularly affected, as they have to spend extra time and money arranging fuel for daily household needs. Rising prices of LPG have further added to the financial burden on poor and middle-class families.

Community members have expressed strong resentment over what they describe as discrimination and neglect by the relevant authorities. They claim that several delegations have approached concerned departments and elected representatives, but so far, no practical steps have been taken to address the issue. “The gas pipeline is passing right next to our villages, yet we are still living without gas. This is unfair and unacceptable,” said a local resident.

Social and political figures of the area have also criticised the situation, urging the authorities to take immediate notice and include Kori Dolal and Noor Dolal in the gas distribution network. They emphasised that access to natural gas is a basic necessity and a right of the people, not a privilege.

The residents have appealed to Raja Parvez Ashraf, during his tenure, the gas supply was granted, but not supplied to the villages. Sui Gas authorities and local representatives to conduct a survey of the area and ensure early provision of gas connections. They warned that if their long-standing demand continues to be ignored, they may be left with no option but to launch a peaceful protest to draw attention to their plight.

The issue highlights broader concerns about uneven development and a lack of basic facilities in rural areas, despite the presence of major infrastructure projects passing through them.
