London: Sentences of Three Sex Offenders Challenged in Court of Appeal

گزشتہ ماہ، ابرار حسین اور بھائی امتیاز احمد اور فیاض احمد، جو کہ کیتھلی کے رہائشی ہیں، کو ایک کم عمر لڑکی کے ساتھ زیادتی کا مجرم قرار دیا گیا تھا۔ ابرار حسین (47) کو دو بار زیادتی کے جرم میں ساڑھے چھ سال قید کی سزا سنائی گئی، جو ایک ساتھ پوری ہوگی۔ امتیاز احمد (62) کو ایک زیادتی کے جرم میں نو سال قید کی سزا دی گئی، جبکہ فیاض احمد (45) کو دو زیادتیوں پر ساڑھے سات سال قید کی سزا دی گئی، جو ایک ساتھ پوری ہوگی۔

سولیسیٹر جنرل لوسی ریگبی نے کہا:
“میں اس کیس میں استحصال پر سخت دکھی اور غصے میں ہوں، اور مکمل غور و فکر کے بعد میں نے ان تینوں سزاؤں کو غیر مناسب طور پر نرم سزا کے قانون (ULS) کے تحت اپیل کورٹ میں چیلنج کر دیا ہے۔ اب یہ عدالت پر منحصر ہے کہ وہ ان سزاؤں میں اضافہ کرے یا نہیں۔”

پولیس نے مقدمے کے اختتام پر ایک پہلے سے متعلقہ کیس کی تفصیلات بھی جاری کیں، جو 20 اکتوبر 2023 کو مکمل ہوا تھا۔ اس میں مزید پانچ افراد کو درج ذیل سزائیں سنائی گئی تھیں:

امر یاز اصغر (47) – چار سال چھ ماہ قید (زیادتی)
پرواز اصغر (50) – ساڑھے چھ سال قید (دو نازیبا حملے)
محمد دین (47) – 14 سال قید (11 زیادتیوں کے الزامات)
ساجد محمود خان (45) – تین سال قید (زیادتی)
زہرون رزاق (47) – ساڑھے چھ سال قید (زیادتی)
یہ تمام آٹھ مجرم ایک ہی لڑکی کے خلاف جرائم میں ملوث پائے گئے، جبکہ محمد دین کو ایک دوسری متاثرہ لڑکی کے ساتھ زیادتی کا بھی مجرم قرار دیا گیا تھا۔

London (Pothwar.com, February 18, 2025) – Sentences given to three sex offenders have been referred to the Court of Appeal, the Attorney General’s office has confirmed.

Last month, Ibrar Hussain and brothers Imtiaz and Fayaz Ahmed, all from Keighley, were convicted of raping a vulnerable young girl when she was in her early teens.

Hussain, 47, of Mornington Street, received six-and-a-half years for each of two rapes, to be served concurrently.

Imtiaz Ahmed, 62, of Glen Ghyll, Dawson Road, was given nine years for a single offence of rape.

Fayaz Ahmed, 45, of Devonshire Street, got seven-and-a-half years for each of two rapes, to be served concurrently.

Hussain was the only defendant present in person as both Ahmed brothers are known to have absconded abroad. Their location is unknown.

Solicitor General Lucy Rigby – who supports the Attorney General with his work – said: “I was appalled and angered by the exploitation in this case and, after careful consideration, I have referred the three sentences eligible under the Unduly Lenient Sentence Scheme (ULS) to the Court of Appeal.

“It is now for the court to determine whether to increase these sentences.”

On conclusion of last month’s case, police published details of an earlier linked trial, which concluded on October 20, 2023, in which five other men received the following sentences:

Amreaz Asghar, 47, of Keighley, was jailed for four-and-a-half years for rape;

Perwaz Asghar, 50, of Nottingham, was jailed for six-and-a-half years for two indecent assaults;

Mohammed Din, 47, of Keighley, was jailed for 14 years for 11 counts of rape;

Sajid Mahmood Khan, 45, of Keighley was jailed for three years for rape;

Zehroon Razak, 47, of Keighley, was jailed for six-and-a-half years for rape;

All eight men were convicted of offences against one girl, while Din was also convicted of raping a second victim.
