Manchester: Ikrah Hussain has clinched a silver medal in world Taekwondo competition in Bulgaria

لندن (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، محمد نصیر راجہ، 09 مئی 2024) اولڈہم سے تعلق رکھنے والے اقراء حسین نے بلغاریہ میں منعقدہ عالمی تائیکوانڈو مقابلے میں چاندی کا تمغہ جیت لیا ہے۔
13 سالہ اقراء حسین نے برطانیہ کی نمائندگی کرتے ہوئے مقابلے میں چار فائٹ کیں اور صرف مارچ میں عالمی سطح پر ڈیبیو کیا۔
اقراء حسین چھ سال سے تائیکوانڈو میں مقابلہ کر رہی ہے اور اس وقت برطانوی تائیکوانڈو پرفارمنس کیڈٹ اسکواڈ اور ایک بین الاقوامی اسپورٹس ایتھلیٹ کا حصہ ہے۔
وہ گزشتہ تین سالوں سے ہڈرز فیلڈ روڈ پر ہورائزن ایل جی اے اکیڈمی میں مقابلہ کر رہی ہے اور اس کھیل میں دوسری ڈین بلیک بیلٹ رکھتی ہے۔
اس نے کہا: “پہلے بلغاریہ میں مقابلہ غیر حقیقی محسوس ہوا، لیکن مجھے اس بات پر فخر تھا کہ میں کہاں تک پہنچی ہوں۔ میں دوسرے مقابلوں میں رہا ہوں لیکن دوسری بار بلغاریہ جانا میرے لیے ایک قدم آگے تھا۔

London (Pothwar.com, Mohammad Naseer Raja, May 09, 2024) Ikrah Hussain from Oldham has clinched a silver medal in a prestigious world Taekwondo competition in Bulgaria.

Ikrah Hussain, 13, had four fights in the competition representing Britain and only made her debut on the world stage in March.

Ikrah has been competing in Taekwondo for six years and is currently part of the British Taekwondo Performance Cadet Squad and an International Sports Athlete.

She has been competing at the Horizon LGA Academy on Huddersfield Road for the past three years and holds a second Dan black belt in the sport.

She said: “At first the competition in Bulgaria felt surreal, but I was proud of how far I have come. I have been in other competitions but going to Bulgaria for the second time was a step forward for me.

Proud mum Naseem said: “Ikrah wants to break down barriers for all ethnicities and increase participation in sport and physical activity for women and girls in all aspects of life.
