Gujar Khan; Tree cutting is banned in all government forests in Pothohar region

گوجرخان (نمائندہ پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم , ،03فروری2022)—لاہور ہائی کورٹ راولپنڈی بینچ کے جسٹس چوہدری عبدالعزیز کے احکامات کی روشنی میں کمشنر راولپنڈی نور الامین مینگل نے پوٹھوہار ریجن میں تمام سرکاری جنگلات میں درختوں کی کٹائی پر پابندی عائد کرتے ہوئے فاریسٹ ایکٹ پر عملدرآمد کی ہدایت کی ہے۔ کمشنر نے اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پورے پنجاب کی طرح پوٹھوہار ریجن میں قدرتی ماحول اور ایکو سسٹم کا تحفظ حکومت کی ذمہ داری ہے۔ انہوں نے محکمہ جنگلات کو ہدایات جاری کی ہیں کہ وہ فاریسٹ ایکٹ پر عمل کر کے ریجن میں موجود تمام درختوں اور جنگلی حیات کے تحفظ اور بچاؤکیلئے ہر ممکن اقدامات کو یقینی بنائیں۔ جنگلات میں حادثاتی یا آگ لگانے کے واقعات کی روک تھام کو ہر صورت یقینی بنایا جائے۔

Gujar Khan; Rawalpindi Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal, in light of orders issued by the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench, has banned the cutting of all government forests in the Potohar region. He has imposed a ban on the cutting of trees in the mountains of the four hilly tehsils.

The commissioner has also issued instructions for the implementation of the Forest Act. A violation of this prohibition would be a crime, and cases would be registered against perpetrators, he said. In this regard, the commissioner presided over a meeting at his office on Tuesday. During the meeting, he directed the department to ensure all possible measures were taken for the protection and conservation of all the trees and wildlife in the region. He said that the protection of the natural environment and ecosystem in the Potohar region was the responsibility of the government.
