US President Jo Biden has nominated Pakistani-American Zahid Qureshi of Gujar Khan as a district court judge

امریکا؛ ، پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم۔۔۔محمد نصیر راجہ۔امریکی صدر جوزف بائیڈن نے پاکستانی نژاد امریکی زاہد قریشی کو ضلعی عدالت کا جج نامزد کیا ہے۔ نیو جرسی سے تعلق رکھنے والے زاہد قریشی کے بطور وفاقی ضلعی جج کی حیثیت سے خدمات انجام دینے والے پہلے مسلمان امریکی ہونے کی تصدیق ہوگئی۔ زاہد قریشی کا تعلق گوجر خان سے ہے اور وہ پروفیسر ارشاد علی قریشی کے بھتیجے ہیں جو گوجر خان کی ایک مشہور شخصیت ہیں۔
زاہد قریشی 3 سال سے مجسٹریٹ جج کے فرائض سرانجام دے رہے ہیں۔ گورنر مرفی، سینیٹر کورے بوکر اور سینیٹر مینینڈیز نے صدر کے اس اقدام کی تعریف کی۔امریکی – پاکستانی پبلک افیئرز کمیٹی نے اس اقدام پر صدر بائیڈن کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔اے پی پیک کے چیئرمین ڈاکٹر اعجاز احمد نے کہا کہ وہ کئی سالوں سے مسلمان امریکیوں کو مناسب نمائندگی دینے کے لئے مہم میں سب سے آگے رہے ہیں۔انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ وفاقی جج کی حیثیت سے زاہد قریشی کی نامزدگی ایک تاریخی لمحہ تھا اور وہ صدر جو بائیڈن، سینیٹر بکر، سینیٹر شممر اور دیگر کے شکر گزار ہیں جنہوں نے اس اقدام کو ممکن بنایا۔ڈاکٹر اعجاز احمد نے کہا کہ امریکہ میں ساڑھے تین لاکھ مسلمان آباد ہیں، اب تاریخ میں پہلی بار ان کی نمائندگی کی جائے گی۔
USA; US President Joseph Biden has nominated Pakistani-American Zahid Qureshi as a district court judge. Zahid Qureshi, from New Jersey, was confirmed to be the first Muslim American to serve as a federal district judge. Zahid Qureshi is from Gujar Khan and is the nephew of Professor Arshad Ali Qureshi a well-known figure in Gujar Khan.
Zahid Qureshi has been serving as a magistrate judge for 3 years. Governor Murphy, Senator Corey Booker and Senator Menendez praised the president’s move.
The American-Pakistani Public Affairs Committee thanked President Biden for the initiative.
AP Pack Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed said he had been at the forefront of the campaign for many years to give Muslim Americans adequate representation.
He added that the nomination of Zahid Qureshi as a federal judge was a historic moment and that he was grateful to President Joe Biden, Senator Booker, Senator Schumer and others who made the move possible.
Dr. Ejaz Ahmed said that 3.5 million Muslims live in the United States, now for the first time in history they will be represented.
