First woman fined in Denmark for wearing full-face veil

یورپی ملک ڈنمارک میں مسلم خاتون کے چہرے پر نقاب پہننے پر پہلا جرمانہ کر دیا گیا، 28سالہ خاتون کو نقاب کر کے شاپنگ مال جانے پرایک ہزار کرونر کا جرمانہ کیا گیا ہے۔
فرانسیسی خبر رساں ایجنسی اے ایف پی کے مطابق 28 سالہ مسلمان خاتون ہرشوم ایک مارکیٹ میں نقاب پہنے موجود تھیں، جہاں ایک دوسری خاتون نے ان سے نقاب اتارنے کا مطالبہ کیا اور دونوں کے درمیان اس پر سخت بحث ہوگئی۔
اس دوران پولیس بھی موقع پر پہنچ گئی، تاہم کھینچا تانی میں خاتون کا نقاب اتر گیا لیکن انہوں نے پولیس کو دیکھ کر دوبارہ اسے لگا لیا۔
پولیس آفیسر ڈیوڈ بورچرسن نے غیر ملکی میڈیا کو بتایا کہ انہوں نے اُسی وقت نقاب پوش خاتون کو حراست میں لے لیا اور شاپنگ سینٹر کی سیکیورٹی سے سی سی ٹی وی کیمرہ فوٹیج بھی طلب کی۔
دوسری جانب نقاب پوش خاتون پر نئے قانون کے تحت ایک ہزار کرونر کا جرمانہ عائد کیا گیا، جب کہ دوسری خاتون پر بھی اشتعال پھیلانے کے الزام میں جرمانہ عائد کیا گیا۔
واضح رہے کہ برطانیہ کے دیگر ممالک جیسے فرانس، آسٹریا، بلغاریہ اور جرمنی کی ریاست بویریا میں بھی نقاب پہننے کے خلاف قانون نافذ کیا گیا ہے۔

Police were called to a shopping centre in Horsholm, in the north-eastern region of Nordsjaelland, Police took a photograph of the woman wearing the niqab, and obtained security camera footage from the shopping centre of the incident.
The woman was informed she would receive a fine of 1,000 kroner (£120) in the post, and was told to either remove her veil or leave the public space. “She chose the latter,” Borchersen said.
As of 1 August, wearing a burqa, which covers a person’s entire face, or the niqab, which only shows the eyes, in public carries a fine of 1,000 kroner.
Repeated violations can be fined up to 10,000 kroner.
The ban also targets other accessories that hide the face such as balaclavas, masks and false beards.
Human rights campaigners say the ban is a violation of women’s rights, while supporters argue it enables better integration of Muslim immigrants.
Belgium, France, Germany and Austria have also imposed bans or partial bans of full-face veils.
