ملک بھر میں عام انتخابات کیلئے آج پولنگ ہوگی، قومی اورچاروں صوبائی اسمبلیوں کیلئے10 کروڑ 59 ؍لاکھ رائے دہندگان پانچ سال کیلئے اپنے نمائندے منتخب کرینگے۔ آج ملک بھر میں عام تعطیل ہے، تمام سرکاری، نیم سرکاری، خود مختار اور نجی ادارے بند رہیں گے۔ ملک بھرمیں 17؍ ہزارپولنگ اسٹیشنوں کو انتہائی حساس جبکہ 20ہزار پولنگ اسٹیشنوں کا حساس قرار دیا گیا ہے، سیکورٹی کے سخت انتظامات کئے گئے ہیں،8لاکھ فوجی،سول آرمڈ فورسز کے اہلکار امن و امان برقرار ر کھیں گے،پولنگ کا عمل صبح 8 بجے سے شام 6 بجے تک بلاتعطل جاری رہیگا۔ 272 میں سے 270 نشستوں پر امیدواروں کے درمیان مقابلہ ہوگا، قومی اسمبلی کی 270نشستوں پر1805،صوبائی کی 570سیٹوں پر11 ہزار 673 امیدواروں میں مقابلہ ہوگا، انتخابی سامان کی ترسیل کا کام مکمل کرلیا ہے،21کروڑبیلٹ پیپرز سمیت دیگر سامان فوج کی نگرانی میں
85ہزار سے زائد پولنگ اسٹیشنوں پرپہنچایا دیا گیا،پولنگ عملےنے فرائض سنبھال لئے ، 131ڈسٹرکٹ ریٹرننگ افسران الیکشن کی نگرانی کرینگے ،قومی اسمبلی کیلئے سبز جبکہ صوبائی اسمبلی کیلئے سفید بیلٹ پیپر استعمال ہوگا، ملکی تاریخ میں پہلی بار بیلٹ پیپرز میںسیکورٹی فیچرز بھی شامل کیے گئے ہیں ، اس مرتبہ پہلی بار تعلیمی اداروں کے علاوہ دوسرے اداروں سے بھی ملازمین کو انتخابی ڈیوٹی کا حصہ بنایا گیا ہے، فیڈرل ڈائریکٹوریٹ سے 6 ہزار سے زائد اساتذہ کو الیکشن ٹریننگ کرائی گئی ہے۔چیف الیکشن کمشنر جسٹس (ر) سردار محمد رضا نے قوم کے نام اپنے پیغام میں کہا ہے کہ ہم آزادانہ، منصفانہ اور غیر جانبدارانہ انتخابات کے انعقاد کیلئے بھرپور کوشش کررہے ہیں۔ عوام آج گھروں سے نکلیں اور ووٹ کا صحیح استعمال کرکے اپنی قومی ذمہ داری نبھائیں
Rawalpindi; Election are taking place In Pakistan today 25th July 2018. As many as 12,570 candidates will contest the upcoming general elections for National Assembly and provincial assembly seats, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Initially, 21,482 candidates filed nomination papers, but the final list released by ECP confirms that only 12,570 will contest the July 25 elections.
A total of 3,675 contestants are vying for 272 general seats of the National Assembly (NA) whereas 8,895 are contesting for 577 general seats of the four provincial assemblies (PA).
Pakistan’s parliament consists of the president and two Houses known as the National Assembly and the Senate.
Voting for the lower house, the National Assembly, will be held on July 25 — on a first-past-the-post voting method. There are 70 more seats reserved for women and minorities, bringing the total to 342 seats.
Voting for NA and four provincial assemblies will take place at the same time. Around 172 women have entered the race for National Assembly and 386 for provincial legislatures in the upcoming elections.
A total of 157 non-Muslims are taking part in elections 2018 of which 44 will contest for NA seats and the remaining 113 for PA seats.
The largest numbers of contestants come from Punjab province where 1,696 contestants are vying for National Assembly seats while a total of 4,242 for the provincial legislature. Moreover, 73 women are in the run for NA and 174 for the PA of the largest province by population whereas 32 non-Muslims are also contesting for the Punjab assembly.
