Qureshi):<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>\u00a0\u2014<\/strong> A powerful cloudburst over Rawalpindi and Islamabad turned roads into streams, disrupting traffic across several areas and causing widespread flooding.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Several parts of Islamabad experienced severe water accumulation, bringing traffic to a standstill. The road from Rawat to Faizabad was also inundated with several feet of water, leaving a number of vehicles stranded on the roadway.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In Rawalpindi, the situation worsened as the <strong>Nullah Lai<\/strong> overflowed, causing floodwater to enter dozens of residential areas. Several vehicles were reportedly swept away by powerful water currents, while residents faced difficulties in reaching and leaving their homes.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The sudden weather emergency also triggered criticism of the district administration over its handling of educational institutions. Authorities ordered the closure of educational institutions across the district, but parents and school transport operators said the decision came after many students had already been dropped off at their schools and parents had returned home.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The late announcement reportedly created confusion and panic at educational institutions, with parents rushing to make arrangements to collect their children amid already difficult traffic and flooding conditions.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Parents expressed strong anger over what they described as a delayed and poorly coordinated decision.
