London, July 26, 2026 (Pothwar.com \u2013 Mohammad Naseer Raja): Sajid Younis, originally from Village Khandah, Choa Khalsa, Tehsil Kallar Syedan<\/strong>, has achieved a significant political milestone by being elected as a Councillor for the College Ward of Wellington Town Council, United Kingdom<\/strong>. Secondary school teacher Sajid Younis secured 498 votes out of 759 – an unassailable 65.6 per cent of the poll – in Thursday’s by-election.<\/h4>\n

He dedicated his clear victory to the memory of his mother, Mrs S Begum, who recently died of cancer. He vowed to support cancer charities in his new role representing the College ward on Wellington Town Council.<\/h4>\n

Married father of three Councillor Younis said he was “absolutely pleased” with the result and thanked voters and his “good friend”, borough council leaders, for their ‘relentless campaigning”.<\/h4>\n

The victory is being celebrated not only in Wellington but also by members of the Pakistani diaspora.
