10-year-old Sara Sharif, whose tragic death shocked the United Kingdom, will remain in Pakistan after Surrey County Council decided to withdraw its legal efforts to have the children returned to Britain.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">According to international media reports, Surrey County Council stated that it had no option but to abandon the legal proceedings aimed at bringing Sara\u2019s brothers and sisters back to the UK. The decision means the children will continue living in Pakistan under the care of their grandfather.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Reports indicate that Sara\u2019s siblings have been residing with their grandfather in Jhelum since October 5, 2023. The grandfather\u2019s lawyer stated that the children hold dual nationality and would be free to travel to or settle in the United Kingdom in the future should they choose to do so.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The development comes as authorities continue to deal with the aftermath of one of Britain\u2019s most disturbing child abuse cases. Sara Sharif\u2019s body was discovered at her family home in Woking on August 10, 2023. Investigators found evidence that the young girl had suffered prolonged abuse before her death.<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Sara\u2019s father, Irfan Sharif, was sentenced to 40 years in prison after being convicted in connection with her murder.
