As reported by The News<\/em>, sources familiar with investigations being conducted by NAB Rawalpindi and NAB Islamabad stated that, based on the society\u2019s approved layout plan and available land, only around 6,000 plot files could legally be issued. However, former office-bearers and alleged facilitators are accused of issuing nearly 42,000 files in total.<\/h4>\n

The enormous discrepancy between available land and allotted plot files has created a severe imbalance, leaving thousands of investors and buyers facing financial losses and uncertainty regarding ownership of their plots.<\/h4>\n

Investigators have so far declared nearly 36,000 files as illegal, excessive, or unsupported by available land records. Authorities say the findings point towards a long-running fraudulent scheme involving fake, duplicate, and unauthorised plot files allegedly sold to the public in an organised manner to collect billions of rupees.<\/h4>\n

Further investigations revealed that records of payments and allotments for thousands of files are either incomplete, missing, or unavailable altogether. Officials stated that many citizens were allegedly sold plot files for land that either did not exist, lacked legal approval, or had never been properly documented.<\/h4>\n

According to sources, the major gap between the society\u2019s actual land bank and the number of issued files strongly indicates systematic fraud involving forged and duplicate documentation.<\/h4>\n

Authorities have already identified financial irregularities exceeding Rs16 billion. However, investigators believe the amount could increase significantly as additional financial records and transactions are examined in detail.<\/h4>\n

NAB officials confirmed that seven suspects connected to the case have been arrested, including members of the former management committee and individuals associated with a land dealing company.<\/h4>\n

Those arrested include former Secretary General Mehdi Khan Shakir, former Treasurer Malik Muhammad Nawaz, former Executive Member Muhammad Arshad, and four individuals linked to Land Stock Dealing Point Company: Munir Akhtar, Ali Mahmood, Yameen Malik, and Ghulam Jilani.<\/h4>\n

Meanwhile, the Accountability Court in Islamabad has granted NAB a seven-day physical remand of the accused to facilitate further investigation, recovery of documentary evidence, tracing of financial transactions, and identification of additional facilitators allegedly involved in the scandal.<\/h4>\n
