Kahuta (Pothwar.com \u2014 Imran Zamir | May 02, 2026): <\/em>A strong protest was staged in Kahuta by Jamaat-e-Islami against rising inflation and continuous increases in petroleum prices. The demonstration took place after Friday prayers at Machhli Chowk and was attended by a large number of party workers, traders, elders, and youth.<\/h4>\n

Protesters carried banners and placards demanding a reduction in petrol and diesel prices, lower interest rates, tax relief, and the provision of basic facilities in education and healthcare. Loud slogans were raised, expressing strong opposition to government policies.<\/h4>\n

On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami PP-7 Ameer Abrar Hussain Abbasi and other speakers addressed the gathering, stating that inflation has made life extremely difficult for the public. They added that the constant rise in fuel prices is placing an increasing financial burden on citizens.<\/h4>\n

Speakers criticised the government’s economic policies, saying they have failed and pushed the public into severe hardship, while the ruling elite remain occupied with privileges and protocol. They further noted that people are struggling to afford basic necessities as prices of essential items continue to skyrocket.<\/h4>\n

They demanded an immediate reduction in fuel prices, relief in electricity and gas bills, elimination of unnecessary taxes, and urgent provision of basic education and healthcare facilities.
