During their visit, the royal couple toured the mosque and were briefed on its historical significance as one of Britain\u2019s earliest purpose-built mosques. They observed its unique Indo-Islamic architectural style and learned about its longstanding role in serving the Muslim community in the UK.<\/h4>\n

A central moment of the visit was their meeting with Hafiz Saeed Hashmi, originally from Kallar Syedan, who is the longest-serving Imam at the mosque. Imam Hashmi has devoted many years to leading prayers, guiding the community, and promoting interfaith understanding.<\/h4>\n

The Duke and Duchess held a cordial discussion with him, acknowledging his decades of service and contributions toward strengthening community relations. They expressed appreciation for the mosque\u2019s efforts in fostering unity and dialogue among different faiths and cultures.<\/h4>\n
