Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com \u2014 Ikram ul Haq Qureshi | March 17, 2026) \u2014 Under amendments to the Punjab Local Government Act, the number of urban Union Councils (UCs) in Kallar Syedan city has been increased from two to four, while the number of rural Union Councils has been raised from ten to thirteen.<\/h4>\n

According to population criteria, a new Union Council will be established in the Qanoongo circle of Choha Khalsa. Currently, the population in several areas of UC Choha Khalsa exceeds the prescribed limits, including about 5,000 additional residents in Choha Khalsa, 4,000 in Kanoha, and around 3,000 in Manianda. Due to this population growth, there is a strong possibility that a new Union Council may be created in the area under the name Banhal or Takal.<\/h4>\n

Meanwhile, two additional Union Councils will be formed within the Qanoongo circle of Kallar Syedan. UC Guff has the largest population in the entire tehsil with approximately 28,000 residents, while UC Bishandot has a population of about 23,000. As a result, new Union Councils will be created by reorganising and dividing the areas of Guff, Bishandot, and Ghazan Abad.<\/h4>\n
