According to police sources, a police team was conducting routine checks during a checkpoint operation when they signalled a suspicious motorcycle and a car to stop. Instead of complying, the suspects opened fire on the police party. Police retaliated, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire.<\/h4>\n

During the encounter, three suspects were injured and arrested on the spot, while two others managed to flee under the cover of darkness. Police also recovered a Mehran car used by the suspects along with illegal weapons.<\/h4>\n

The arrested suspects have been identified as Khawar, Zahid, and Adnan. Police officials stated that the suspects are hardened criminals and have previously been involved in numerous cases in the twin cities of Rawalpindi<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and Islamabad<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, including robbery, narcotics trafficking, theft, assault, and illegal possession of weapons.<\/h4>\n

During the firing, two bullets struck the official police vehicle, while two bullets also hit Constable Faisal Shahzad. However, he remained unharmed due to wearing a bulletproof jacket.<\/h4>\n

Upon receiving information about the incident, senior police officers reached the scene along with additional police personnel. A search operation has been launched in the surrounding areas to arrest the two suspects who managed to escape.<\/h4>\n

The injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, while police have initiated further investigation into the case.<\/h4>\n

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani<\/span><\/span><\/strong> appreciated the bravery of the police team. He commended the efforts of the SP Saddar, ASP Saddar, and Rawat Police for courageously confronting the armed criminals and successfully arresting the wanted suspects while recovering weapons.<\/h4>\n
