Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com \u2013 Ikram ul Haq Qureshi | February 21, 2026):<\/strong> Police in Kallar Syedan<\/span><\/span> have registered a case against 10 individuals on charges of allegedly setting up an illegal weekly market and collecting extortion money from traders and street vendors under the pretext of issuing receipts.<\/h4>\n

According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by Sub-Inspector Kamran Yaqoob of Kallar Syedan Police Station<\/span><\/span>, he was on duty maintaining law and order when he received information that Ibrahim Khan, Ismail Khan, and seven to eight accomplices had established an unauthorised market on vacant land opposite a private bank on Choa Road.<\/h4>\n

The report states that every Monday, shopkeepers, pushcart vendors, and vehicle owners parking in the area were allegedly forced to pay money in the name of \u201cperchi\u201d (receipt). The accused reportedly had no permission from any government authority nor any official contract for setting up the market or collecting fees.<\/h4>\n

It is further alleged that those who refused to pay were threatened with death and financial harm, and that these claims were corroborated by multiple sources.<\/h4>\n

Police officials added that the Municipal Committee Kallar Syedan<\/span><\/span> has formally confirmed in writing that the land in question is privately owned and that no permission or contract was issued for organising a market or collecting any fees at the site.<\/h4>\n

Police at Kallar Syedan have initiated further investigation after registering the case and are conducting raids to arrest the suspects.<\/h4>\n
