The performance of the Punjab Highway Department has come under serious scrutiny as persistent waterlogging has been reported on the Chokpindori Bhata Road, despite its recent construction at a cost of millions of rupees.<\/h4>\n

The road was rebuilt just a few months ago, and drainage channels stretching nearly two kilometers were also constructed along both sides. However, rainwater and wastewater from nearby residential areas continue to accumulate on the road, turning large sections into ponds and causing early deterioration of the newly built surface.<\/h4>\n

Residents allege that relevant authorities, including the Punjab Highway Department and NESPAK, are acting as silent spectators while the road sustains damage day by day. As a result, a heavy public grant is effectively being wasted due to poor planning and ineffective drainage.<\/h4>\n

Locals have urged the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi to take immediate notice of the situation, conduct a thorough assessment, and initiate prompt action against those responsible to prevent further loss to public infrastructure.<\/h4>\n
