London (Pothwar.com \u2014 Mohammad Naseer Raja | 04 January 2026):The new Masjid E Vali in Blackburn has welcomed worshippers through its doors for the first time after opening on New Year’s Day.<\/h4>\n

One of the region\u2019s biggest and most expensive mosque projects in recent decades, the building opened five years after plans were first unveiled by the Issa Foundation, which was established by Blackburn’s EG Group founder brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa and their family.<\/h4>\n

The mosque, based in Preston New Road, has been named in memory of their father, Vali Issa and has opened just weeks ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, which begins this year in mid-February.<\/h4>\n

Huge crowds turned out for the first prayers at the mosque, which took place mid-afternoon on Wednesday, December 31, with special talks by imams.<\/h4>\n

Earlier in the day, local women also had the opportunity to have a first look inside the prayer hall.<\/h4>\n

The following day, January 1, the first wedding ceremony (Nikkah) took place at the venue, for a member of the Issa family.<\/h4>\n

The mosque can hold more than 1,000 worshippers, and has parking for more than 180 cars. It has a creche, a dedicated women’s only space and is powered by solar panels installed on the roof.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
