London (Pothwar.com \u2014 Mohammad Naseer Raja | 01 January 2026):A staggering \u00a3117,000 has been raised for charity by a team of Blackburn riders who are planning to cycle from Makkah to Medina in Saudi Arabia.<\/h4>\n

The \u2018Blackburn Hijrah Riders\u2019 have been actively fundraising since the summer by visiting local mosques, madrassas and businesses.<\/h4>\n

They have also hosted various appeals to support their fundraising efforts, which will aim to help the people of Palestine.<\/h4>\n

The ride, which is described as a ‘spiritual and symbolic act of reflection, resilience, and renewal’ for the team, is inspired by the Islamic Hijrah, the historic migration of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).<\/h4>\n

They are set to head out to the Arabian Peninsula this week for the ride, which will take them through mountainous terrain in western Saudi Arabia. The ride itself takes place from January 6.<\/h4>\n

The group are cycling to support orphans in Palestine for the charity ‘Aid for Mankind’, an organisation that is helping vulnerable families and displaced orphans across the borders of Palestine in Egypt and Jordan.<\/h4>\n

The ride will cover more than 340 miles in the sweltering heat and over three continuous days, covering around 110-120 miles a day with 12-15 hours a day in the saddle.<\/h4>\n

The nine riders from Blackburn include Suhayle Master, Mohammed Lorgat, Anas Gotly, Najeeb Dalal, Abid Saleh, Javed Master, Shakeel Choudhry, Shabbir Adam and Yasir Gotly.<\/h4>\n

The team said they had been overwhelmed by the support from people across Blackburn and beyond.<\/h4>\n
