Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com \u2014 Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | December 17, 2025) \u2014 A representative delegation from village Tal Khalsa held a meeting with Assistant Commissioner Kallar Syedan, Shabana Nazir, to raise serious concerns regarding the negative impacts of stone crushing machines in the area.<\/h4>\n

The delegation comprised members of Al-Khidmat Foundation, including Chaudhry Abrar Hussain, Chaudhry Muhammad Banaras, Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem, Arshad Butt, Chaudhry Bashir Arain and others. They informed the Assistant Commissioner that, allegedly with collusion of the Mines and Minerals and Environmental departments, the crusher mafia has been allowed to install crushing machines at multiple locations.<\/h4>\n

According to the delegation, all crushing plants have been set up within residential areas, causing severe noise pollution and disturbance due to heavy machinery. Continuous noise has disrupted daily life and pushed residents toward mental stress. They further stated that these machines have badly damaged the environment, while the education system in religious seminaries has been severely affected.<\/h4>\n

The delegation highlighted that deep excavations in seasonal streams have turned into deadly pits. In Choa Khalsa, three minor children have reportedly drowned after falling into such pits. Similar issues are being faced along Gujar Khan Road within the municipal limits of Kallar Syedan. They also pointed out that groundwater levels are rapidly declining, drying up wells, while heavy vehicles used by crushing plants have damaged roads extensively. Despite these issues, no effective legal action has been taken, giving rise to serious concerns and suspicions.<\/h4>\n

Responding to the complaints, Assistant Commissioner Shabana Nazir assured the delegation that immediate notice would be taken. She said that the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of the crushing plants would be thoroughly reviewed, adding that there is no justification for installing crushing machines within residential areas.<\/h4>\n
