Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com, September 26, 2025) \u2014 Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and focal person for the Daultala\u2013Gujar Khan Road project, Ghazanfar Ali Kayani, held a special meeting with MPA PP-9 Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti to discuss pressing concerns regarding the ongoing road construction.<\/h4>\n

During the meeting, Kayani highlighted the residents’ grievances, noting that the original width of the Daultala\u2013Gujar Khan Road was 16 feet. Still, instead of expanding it, the authorities had dismantled the existing road and begun constructing a 12-foot-wide stretch. This decision, he said, has sparked widespread protests among the local population.<\/h4>\n

Kayani also raised the issue of the roadside drainage system, stressing the need for an extension of the length of water channels alongside the road to prevent future flooding and damage.<\/h4>\n

Taking prompt notice of the matter, MPA Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti immediately contacted officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and discussed the public\u2019s concerns in detail. He assured the delegation that he would make every effort to resolve the issues of road narrowing and drainage expansion.<\/h4>\n

Bhatti further stated that accountability would be ensured, questioning why the engineer in charge prepared an estimate for a 12-foot road after dismantling a 16-foot road, thereby causing injustice to the people. He vowed to raise this public issue at every relevant forum, declaring that the rights of the residents would not be compromised.<\/h4>\n
