London (Pothwar.com, Mohammad Naseer Raja \u2013 September 14, 2025): A woman who suffered catastrophic injuries after being struck by a speeding car in Derby has died more than seven months later, police have confirmed.<\/h4>\n

The victim, 35-year-old Joanna Cieszynska<\/strong>, was hit on 13 February 2022<\/strong> while crossing the road to get into a taxi. At that moment, Armaan Afsar<\/strong> was overtaking the taxi in his Volkswagen Golf at high speed when he collided with her.<\/h4>\n

Joanna sustained severe injuries and fought for her life for several months. Tragically, she passed away on 7 October 2022<\/strong>, according to Derbyshire Police. She leaves behind two young boys<\/strong>, whom she was raising alone after the death of their father some years earlier.<\/h4>\n

On Monday, Afsar appeared at Derby Crown Court<\/strong>, where he pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving<\/strong>. The judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison<\/strong>, highlighting the devastating consequences of reckless driving.<\/h4>\n
