The collapse occurred as drainage channels were being dug along the sides of the road, which reportedly destabilized the structure\u2019s foundation.<\/h4>\n<h4>In response to the incident, the Highway Department and the contractor stated that property owners should exercise caution when constructing homes or shops near public roads. They emphasized that the land on both sides of the road belongs to the government and is often utilized for drainage and other infrastructure projects.<\/h4>\n<h4>The department advised residents to ensure that any construction does not encroach on government land to avoid potential damage. They further stressed the importance of verifying property boundaries before initiating construction to prevent incidents like this from occurring.<\/h4>\n<h4>Local officials have expressed sympathy for Shaukat Shah and his family and assured that steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
