Rawat (Pothwar.com, Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi, August 24, 2024) \u2013 A recent report has revealed that 1,153 positions, including doctors and paramedics, remain vacant in the Rawalpindi District Health Department. Despite an annual budget of PKR 6,969.2 million, a staggering PKR 5,173.406 million is spent solely on salaries. The district boasts five teaching hospitals, seven tehsil hospitals, nine rural health centers, and 99 basic health units, with 61 operating 24\/7. Additionally, the district has 13 dispensaries, 13 maternity centers, and a total of 600 beds available across the hospitals, RHCs, and BHUs. The workforce includes 475 doctors, 203 nurses, 219 vaccinators, 354 trained birth attendants, 2,254 sanitary patrols (1,500 on daily wages), 1,240 lady health workers, 69 lady health supervisors, 646 field staff, and 131 consultants.<\/h4>\n
