The residents of Gujjar Khan took to the streets today in a large-scale protest against what they described as &#8220;cruel&#8221; taxes imposed on their electricity bills. In this regard, a peaceful rally was organized by Raja Muhammad Jawad, President of Anjuman Tajran. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in the town&#8217;s central area, holding banners and chanting slogans demanding immediate relief from the burdensome charges.<\/h4>\n<h4>The protestors, comprising families, local business owners, and community leaders, voiced their frustration over the soaring costs of electricity, which they claim have been exacerbated by the recent imposition of additional taxes. The protestors were holding banners with different slogans in their hands, Many expressed concerns about their ability to afford basic utilities, highlighting the financial strain on households already grappling with rising living costs.<\/h4>\n<h4>&#8220;The government needs to understand that these taxes are pushing ordinary people to the brink,&#8221; said Ali Ahmed, a local shopkeeper. &#8220;We are not asking for luxury; we are asking for fair treatment and an end to these unjust charges. All the big bureaucrats including the political rulers are given free electricity units.<\/h4>\n<h4>The protest remained peaceful, but the message was clear. Residents called for an urgent review of the taxation policy and immediate measures to alleviate the financial pressure on the community. They also appealed to local and national representatives to take swift action.<\/h4>\n<h4>The situation remains tense as residents await a formal response from the government.
