13, April, 2024)- The 36th death anniversary of former member of the National Assembly from Murree, Kahuta Choa Khalsa and former Federal Minister Muhammad Khaqan Abbasi was celebrated with full devotion and respect in Islamabad, in which his son, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and his family members participated, Muhammad Khaqan Abbasi died on April 10, 1988, in Ojri Camp Faizabad blasts, at Zero Point after being hit by a stray missile. In this accident, his eldest son and political successor, Zahid Khaqan Abbasi, was also injured by the missile and lost his memory and also died.\u00a0 Late Muhammad Khaqan Abbasi was a great personality and resourceful political leader of Kohsar region who after his retirement from Pakistan Air Force not only achieved success by participating in the non-partisan elections of 1985 but also earned a big name in the politics of the region. During his reign, he started a new era by reviving the Murree Kahuta Development Institution and making systematic and vigorous efforts to eradicate backwardness. He established one-room educational institutions and dispensaries in remote areas. After his martyrdom, his second son Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had to return home from abroad and play his role in the country&#8217;s politics. He did not participate in the elections of February 8. He has practically separated from the Muslim League-N.
