Birmingham, was jailed for six and half years. He had denied the offence after his arrest but he was found guilty of rape following a trial. During a sentencing hearing on Thursday, May 25, a heart-wrenching personal statement from the victim was read out to the court.<\/h4>\n<h4>The 24-year-old had sex with the woman without her consent at the Village Hotel in Cardiff. They ended up in the same room after a night out in the city center, but it was agreed Sajjad would sleep on the floor.<\/h4>\n<h4>Police were called after she confided in a friend about the ordeal. Sajjad later claimed it had been the first time he had drank alcohol due to his religion and although he had not drunk much, he believed it may have disinhibited him.<\/h4>\n<h4>Sajjad will serve two-thirds of the sentence before he will be released on license.
