London, UK:( Pothwar.com, Mohammad Naseer Raja, 19, April 2023)\u2014A ‘reckless’ driver who embroiled himself in a family feud was employed by Walsall Council. Mohammed Javed was not only involved in violent scenes on the streets of Small Heath but he played a major part as a bitter dispute erupted.<\/h4>\n

The 27-year-old drove his car to Coventry Road where relatives Ali Abbas, 32, Zain Abbas, 28, and Bilal Abbas, 21, got out of the vehicle and wreaked havoc as they ambushed a family member.<\/h4>\n

Some were wielding weapons while witnesses heard threats being shouted including ‘We’re here to kill you. CCTV then captured Javed dangerously driving his car back and forth at speed narrowly avoiding people in the street.<\/h4>\n

The victim’s Mercedes van was taken while he and another person were struck by vehicles in the disorder, although they avoided serious injury. Javed, of Coleshill Road, Marston Green, and the Abbas brothers, of The Crescent in Solihull, received community orders at Birmingham Crown Court after they pleaded guilty to affray.<\/h4>\n

Judge Richard Bond acknowledged that Javed was well-valued at Walsall Council and commented that the references provided a ‘complete juxtaposition’ to his criminal behaviour. Of Javed’s written apology he added: “It’s a refreshing letter for a judge to receive, it’s not full of the usual ‘I’m sorry’.<\/h4>\n

Prosecutor Antonie Muller had told the court that Javed was related to the Abbas brothers’ ‘more distantly’ and it was their father who fell out with his own brother four years prior to the incident. He added it resulted in a ‘family rift’ which had ‘festered as verbal unpleasantries and threats’.<\/h4>\n

The judge said “You decided to take the law into your own hands. You did that because I understand there’s this huge family feud between your dad and his brother. Rather than turning the other cheek you thought it appropriate to bring your dispute onto the streets of Small Heath.”<\/h4>\n

By order of the court, all four defendants must complete 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirement and 100 hours of unpaid work. They were also banned from direct or indirect contact with the victim under a five-year restraining order and told to pay \u00a3575 costs each. In addition, Zain Abbas must pay \u00a36,000 compensation.<\/h4>\n
