Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday postponed general elections in Punjab, scheduled to be held on April 30, setting October 8 as the new date for the provincial assembly polls.<\/h4>\n<h4>On March 1, the Supreme Court had ruled that the elections to the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies should be held within the stipulated period of 90 days.<\/h4>\n<h4>Earlier, ECP had announced to hold polls for the dissolved assembly of Punjab on April 30.<\/h4>\n<h4>In the notification ECP said that in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Article 218(3) read with Section 58 and Section
